Google's mobile-friendly update, what it means for you ...

As of Tuesday, 21 April 2015 Google released their new mobile-friendly algorithm. You could find this a problem if your website is not mobile-friendly.

In effect they are penalising any site that is not correctly set up to be viewed nicely on a mobile. So if your website already views nicely on a mobile you have nothing to worry about. But what if it doesn't?

The first thing to do if your website looks like the image (above) on the left is to use their mobile-tester link – click here.

After entering your website URL you will be fine if you see a screen like the one below:

If your website fails the test the tool will inform you and you need to get it sorted asap so as to not lose page rankings on Google. It's as simple as that.

Here at Vinehaus Media we can do this for you. In fact if your site fails the test it probably means the site has not been updated for quite some time. So instead of looking at this negatively let's give your site a makeover and make it compliant at the same time.

Every site we produce is automatically made responsive (ie - mobile-friendly).

If you would like some help with this please contact us.

It really isn't worth delaying, don't lose those hard-earned page rankings.
